Lotte Wilms wins the IRONMAN Austria

Lotte Wilms; Australian resident, takes the win at IRONMAN Austria. The pewag Racing Team athlete, representing pewag Australia, cruised to victory; rightfully taking first in the women’s race and securing her place at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona.

IRONMAN Austria took place in Klagenfurt, the hometown of Wilm’s sponsor and coach. Wilm’s spent a decent amount of time in Austria with her coach Rene Vallant, and the pewag team for additional support, before taking on her second full distance IRONMAN. Wilm’s posted her gratitude to social media “I love to be surrounded by so many people who have love and passion for the sport”. She continued to highlight “it [has] been great spending time with my team and support[ing] each other!”

Wilm’s sat comfortably at the front from gun to tape as the other athletes chased the lead all day. Earning the crowds attention in her standout green pewag kit, energy was high both on and off the track.

Wilm’s soaked in the atmosphere and took time to recognise the triumph that was her win as she walked past the finish line to hold the IRONMAN tape firmly in both hands at 8:56:51. Tears of joy, muscles aching, sweat dripping but nothing could match the roar of the crowd.

The entire pewag group are unanimously proud of Lotte Wilms and the pewag Racing Team. pewag Austrlia look forward to welcoming Lotte home to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and catching up with her in the office!
